§ 4-177. Other ordinances, severability.

  • If any word, sentence, phrase, clause, paragraph or section of chapter 4, article VI, division 2, sections 4-166 through 4-190, inclusive, or the application thereof to any person or circumstances be legally declared, adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal, invalid, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, or by application of existing or newly enacted laws or case decisions having effect, such finding or declaration of invalidity shall not invalidate or affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision hereof or the remainder hereof as a whole, but the invalid portion shall be severed from the remainder.
