§ 4-116. Water suitable for breeding prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful to have, keep, maintain, cause or permit within the corporate limits of the city, any collection of standing or flowing water in which mosquitoes breed or are liable to breed, unless such collection of water is treated so as effectively to prevent such breeding. The collections of water prohibited by this section shall be held to be those contained in ditches, ponds, pools, excavations, holes, depressions, open cesspools, privy vaults, fountains, cisterns, tanks, shallow wells, barrels, troughs, defective house roof gutters, tanks of flush toilets, urns, cans, boxes, bottles, tubs, buckets, or other similar water containers.
