§ 4-60. Screening required.

  • (a)

    The proprietor of each and every public stand or store, eating house or restaurant, where are kept for sale fruits, vegetables, fish, oysters, pies, cakes or foodstuff in any form ready for eating, shall keep the same under or behind screened cover or casings of such character and form as to protect the same from the presence of files, and it shall be sufficient compliance with this provision that such articles shall be in a screened room used for the general business of the proprietor as such merchant or vendor.

    (b)

    All meats on sale in meat markets, not kept in ice chests, shall be kept under wire screening of such mesh as to protect the same from the presence of files and it shall not be a compliance with this section that such meats may be in a screened room used for the general business of such merchant or butcher.
