§ 1-102. Department of public works established; responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The department of public works is hereby established and shall be headed by a director who shall be appointed and shall serve pursuant to the provisions of Miss. Code Ann. 1972, Section 21-8-23.

    (b)

    The department of public works shall have responsibility for administration, supervision, management and operation of streets, vehicle maintenance, drainage, sanitation, water and sewer operating and maintenance, solid waste, and traffic control and safety.
