§ 1-100. Department of leisure services established; responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The department of leisure services is hereby established and shall be headed by a director who shall be appointed and shall serve pursuant to the provisions of Miss. Code Ann. 1972, Section 21-8-23.

    (b)

    The department of leisure services shall have the responsibility for the administration, supervision, management and operation of all parks, playgrounds, stadiums, community centers, recreation facilities, athletics, culture and crafts, arts and history, leisure activities, building maintenance, cemeteries, and rights-of-way.
